Cleaners should not be sprayed directly on any screen or control surface of electronic equipment (scanners, copiers, computers, other), but should instead be sprayed onto a cleaning cloth or shop towel. The cloth can be used to clean the affected surface. Copier/scanner glass and computer displays can be wiped with disinfectants, but may need a following wipe with a glass cleaner applied the same way, to remove streaks and smears left by residue from the primary cleaners.
The disinfectant cleaner provided by General Services for use by the custodial staff is called Virex Plus from the manufacturer Diversey. If you are using a different product for cleaning and sanitizing, you should be cautious that you don't damage the surfaces and displays of electronic equipment. Many displays include a thin anti-glare film that could be melted by harsh chemicals.
