Networking Printing: Requesting a print or copy code for printers
Codes can only be added to Lanier/Ricoh network printers.
Codes can only be requested by department associates or department leadership
*Refer to Networking Printing: Print or Copy Codes Explained if you have more question on code usage.
Please submit a Self-Service Help Desk ticket with the name and code that are needed with the name or location of printer. Even if a code is not associated with an individual, a name must be entered on the printer side. A tech will contact you if they need more information.
Removing codes on a printer is the same process. Submit a Self-Service Help Desk ticket with the name and code that are needed to be removed with the name or location of printer.
IT does not do anything with printing funding strings. Asking for funding strings to be added or removed does not give us the information needed to update the printer address book. Please submit the name, code, and printer name for all printer code change tickets.
PRINTER CODES DISCLAIMER: Printer codes are requested and deployed on printers by the department that leases or owns the printer. Department must request to use this option. Printer/Copy codes are the responsibility of the department to manage and maintain. LIT will only facilitate the addition of codes to the address book of printer through a request in a help desk ticket. LIT does not encourage the use of codes, especially an individual code for every user in a department, but understands the need to control the cost of printing. If your department chooses to use print codes it must be understood that it is the department's responsibility to manage codes and inform users of their codes.
LIT will provide the following support:
1. Documentation on how request codes to be added to the printer
2. Documentation and instruction for the end user to enter in their code
3. Basic troubleshooting assistance with printer codes
