Application Scaling Issues (Windows)

High resolution monitors can mess up the scaling of some applications. This guide will walk you through how to override these settings.

Fixing the Issue

  1. If open, close out the effected application.

  2. Click the Windows Search icon in the bottom left of your screen and search for the application that is having scaling issues.

  3. Right-click the application and select Open File Location.
    Note: if Windows Search takes you to a shortcut version of the app (with a small arrow overlay on the App icon), you may need to Right-click on the shortcut and select Open File Location again.

  4. In File Explorer, right-click the application again and select Properties.

  5. Change to the Compatibility tab.

  6. Click Change high DPI settings.

  7. Click the checkbox next to Override high DPI scaling behavior.

  8. Change the drop-down menu to System (Enhanced).

  9. Click OK then Apply then OK to apply and close the settings.
