Teams: Meeting Options

This guide provides instructions for creating a meeting in Microsoft Teams, setting up meeting options, and managing permissions during a meeting.

Creating and Managing a Meeting in Microsoft Teams

  1. Create a New Meeting

    • Open Teams and click the Calendar icon on the left side of the screen.
    • Select New Meeting in the top right of the screen. This will open the meeting detail options screen directly.
  2. Adjust Meeting Options

    • Adjust the details according to your needs. Select More options on the right of the screen to access a detailed menu. You can now configure the following settings:
      • Let callers bypass the lobby (Yes/No)
      • Announce when callers join or leave
      • Who can present
      • Allow mic for attendees
      • Allow camera for attendees
      • Record automatically
      • Allow meeting chat
      • Allow reactions
      • advanced meeting option details screen
  3. Save Settings

    • After adjusting your options, click Save to apply the settings.
    • You can update these options later by opening the meeting in your calendar and selecting the Meeting Options link within the meeting details.
  4. Manage Meeting Options During a Meeting

    • During a meeting, click People to show participants in the meeting controls.
    • At the top of the participant list, click … (More options) and select Manage permissions to adjust settings as needed.
