USB MXL Microphone: Set-Up Guide
This document will cover using setting up and using the headphone jack on the USB MXL Microphone.
This microphone is a USB device - meaning this is a plug and play microphone that will interface with Windows and Mac OS computers without the need for any special drivers. The USB MXL Microphone includes a headphone jack that accepts most headphones; however, maximum headphone volume will vary, please exercise care when first plugging in your headphones.
Set-Up Your Product in Windows
- Power on your computer.
- Connect the USB MXL Microphone to a computer USB port.
- Wait momentarily for the device to automatically install.
- Left-click the Sound icon located on the taskbar.
- Select Open Sound Settings.
- Under Input > Choose your input device dropdown > Select USB audio CODEC as the input device.
Set-Up Your Product in Mac OS
- Power on your computer.
- Connect the USB MXL Microphone to a computer USB port.
- Wait momentarily for the device to automatically install.
- Click the Apple icon > System Preferences > Sounds icon
- Click on the Input tab > Select USB audio Codec as the input device.
Using the Headphone Jack
The USB MXL Microphone includes a headphone jack for audio playback that accepts most headphones.
- Complete the Set-Up instruction above.
- Connect headphones to the microphone headphone jack.
- If playback to the headphones does not occur automatically perform the following:
In Windows:
- Left-click the Sound icon located on the taskbar.
- Select Open Sound Settings.
- Under Output > Choose your output device dropdown > Select USB audio CODEC as the input device.
In Mac OS:
- Click the Apple icon > System Preferences > Sounds icon
- Click on the Output tab > Select USB audio Codec as the input device.
