Microsoft Word Documents in Canvas: Fixing Blank Documents
Article on how to fix word documents being blank when turning them in on canvas.
If you are are submitting Microsoft Word documents on Canvas and they are blank after submission, follow the steps below to fix this issue:
- Save your document on Microsoft Word and click on Browse. (File->Save As->Browse)
- Find a place to save your document and click on Save as type drop-down bar. Make sure it is saved as "Word Document (*.docx)" and not "Word 97-2003 Document(*.doc)" as this option could be set as the default causing the document to be blank on canvas
After saving, submit the document to Canvas and view it to confirm it has content appearing.
