ImageNow Scanner for Financial Aid
Setting up the Scanner
- Check to see if the Scanner is installed on your machine.
- In Windows Search, look up Control Panel.
- Click Devices and Printers.
- Click Printers and Scanners.
- Look for "Fujitsu 6130" or "fj6130". If it is not present, proceed to step 2. If it is present, go to step 3.
- In Windows Search, look up Control Panel.
- Install the Scanner and associated software.
- Download and run the driver program from the driver download page.
- Request administrator access
- See Admin by Request (Windows): Requesting Admin Access (uwstout.edu) for additional information.
- Open the folder created by the installer
- Right-click "setup.exe" and choose run as administrator.
- Accept all the defaults.
- Download and run the installer for PaperStream Capture.
- Accept all the defaults.
- Install the Capture Profiles
- Navigate to This PC > Windows (C:\).
- Open the Scanner Stuff folder.
- Open the Inscan folder.
- Copy the inscan.xml and indevice.xml files.
- Do NOT "click and drag" or MOVE the files. COPY only.
- You can hold the Ctrl key and click each file to selected them both at the same time.
- If you cannot find the files, contact imaging@uwstout.edu for a backup copy.
- Navigate to This PC > Windows (C:\) > Users.
- Open the folder with your username.
- Open AppData.
- If AppData is not an option, you may have to show hidden files.
- View > Show > Hidden items
- Open Roaming.
- Open ImageNow.
- Paste the inscan.xml and indevice.xml files here.
- If asked, overwrite any existing files.
- Navigate to This PC > Windows (C:\).
Using the Scanner
- Ensure the scanner is powered on.
- Place the document(s) in the scanner.
- Place them backwards & upside down.
- On the ImageNow tool bar, click the down arrow next to Capture.
- Choose the correct scanner profile - Simplex for one-sided, Duplex for two-sided.
- Click Capture.
- Click Ignore on any warning boxes.
- On the dialogue box that appears, click Scan.
