ImageNow Scanner for Financial Aid

Setting up the Scanner

  1. Check to see if the Scanner is installed on your machine.
    1. In Windows Search, look up Control Panel.

    2. Click Devices and Printers.

    3. Click Printers and Scanners.

    4. Look for "Fujitsu 6130" or "fj6130". If it is not present, proceed to step 2. If it is present, go to step 3.

  2. Install the Scanner and associated software.
    1. Download and run the driver program from the driver download page
    2. Request administrator access
      1. See Admin by Request (Windows): Requesting Admin Access (uwstout.edu) for additional information. 
    3. Open the folder created by the installer
    4. Right-click "setup.exe" and choose run as administrator. 
    5. Accept all the defaults. 
    6. Download and run the installer for PaperStream Capture.
    7. Accept all the defaults. 
  3. Install the Capture Profiles
    1. Navigate to This PC > Windows (C:\).

    2. Open the Scanner Stuff folder.

    3. Open the Inscan folder.

    4. Copy the inscan.xml and indevice.xml files.

      1. Do NOT "click and drag" or MOVE the files. COPY only.
      2. You can hold the Ctrl key and click each file to selected them both at the same time.
      3. If you cannot find the files, contact imaging@uwstout.edu for a backup copy. 

    5. Navigate to This PC > Windows (C:\) > Users.

    6. Open the folder with your username.

    7. Open AppData.

      1. If AppData is not an option, you may have to show hidden files.
      2. View > Show > Hidden items

    8. Open Roaming.

    9. Open ImageNow.

    10. Paste the inscan.xml and indevice.xml files here.

      1. If asked, overwrite any existing files. 

Using the Scanner

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on.
  2. Place the document(s) in the scanner.
    1. Place them backwards & upside down.
  3. On the ImageNow tool bar, click the down arrow next to Capture.

  4. Choose the correct scanner profile - Simplex for one-sided, Duplex for two-sided.
  5. Click Capture.
  6. Click Ignore on any warning boxes.
  7. On the dialogue box that appears, click Scan.
