Alumni: Resetting your eStout laptop with a Personal Account
Directions for resetting your eStout laptop with a personal email account.
After graduation, your eStout laptop needs to be reset with a personal email account. In addition it needs to be removed from Microsoft Intune.
IMPORTANT: If you do not follow these steps, you will lose access to your computer when your Microsoft 365 account is disabled.
Step One: Backup Your Data
Before making any changes, ensure that you have backed up all your important data to an external drive or cloud storage.

Step Two: Create Local Account
- Search "Settings" in the Windows search bar
- Click Accounts
- Click Other Users
- Click Add Account under Other Users
- On the Microsoft Sign-in page click I don't have this person's sign-in information
- On the next page titled Create account click on Add a user without a Microsoft account
- Enter information for local account that will be created and enter security questions
- Under Other Users the account you created will show up, click on Change account Type and select administrator.
Step Three: Unenroll from Intune
- Open the Settings app on your computer.
- Go to Accounts.
- Select Access work or school.
- Find the account that is connected to your campus's Intune environment.
- Click on the account and select Disconnect.
- Click on Restart Now
- At the login screen you will see your Local account that you just created, sign in with the password you picked.
