Remote PC Access (Azure Virtual Desktop)

The Azure Remote PC service can be used by students or staff that don't have access to a Campus Windows Computer in order to access University Software, websites, and Windows exclusive programs. This will go over how to request Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and where to access it.

Requesting Azure Virtual Desktop

Submit a Ticket with the following: 

  • Title: Azure Virtual Desktop Access
  • Body to include:
    • Instructor's Name
    • Class Name and Section
    • Purpose for AVD (e.g., Microsoft Project, accessing files) 

 

How to Access Azure Virtual Desktop

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to this website: https://windows365.microsoft.com/ent#/devices

  2. Enter your email and press next, you'll be redirected to a Stout login. 

  3. Login using your UW Stout Credentials.

  4. Complete Authentication if Prompted. If you haven't set it up yet, the MFA setup kb will be found below.

  5. Select Connect on the Azure Virtual Desktop Tile.

  6. Select which options you want a check the Don't show again box, and press Connect (May only happen the first time login).

  7. After connecting, enter your UW Stout credentials again.
