Canvas: Exporting and Backing Up the Canvas Gradebook

This is a link and a click through of how you can download the Canvas Gradebook for your files or backup. This is useful for end-of-semester archiving or for working on grades offline in Excel.

When you have completed grading you are able to download the grade book for your backup files. The Instructure guide linked here will walk you through downloading your grade book for reference or backup.

How to Export Your Grades

To download a CSV file of your gradebook for backup or offline editing:

  1. Open Grades from your course navigation.
  2. Select the Actions menu.
  3. Click Export.

3. Click Export

4. Click Export Entire Gradebook

5. That's it. You're done.
