Faculty or staff member lost, misplaced, or broken a laptop power cord or battery

Power Cords

  • Lost power cords are the responsibility of the department to replace through an eligible vendor and following departmental purchasing protocols.

  • Failing power cords are sometimes covered under the manufacturer's warranty if in good repair; no power cord warranties currently extend past three years from the date of purchase. The help desk can check warranty status if provided the C-number and/or serial number of the associated laptop. Power cords that are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty are the responsibility of the department to replace through an eligible vendor and following departmental purchasing protocols.
