Microsoft has updated its licensing agreement, which requires adjustments to our current storage limits.

Why the Change?

Microsoft has updated its licensing agreement, which requires adjustments to our current storage limits. These changes are essential to ensure we can continue to provide reliable and efficient services to all students.

Storage Quotas

New Students Beginning in the Fall 2024

Beginning in the fall of 2024, the new standard storage quota for OneDrive and Outlook Mailboxes was set at 20 GB each for all new students. This adjustment is helping us manage our resources more effectively while still providing ample space for your academic needs.

Students Enrolled before the Fall of 2024

Students enrolled at Stout prior to the fall of 2024 were working under the previous licensing terms and may be utilizing more than the new allotted storage for students. To accommodate your academic needs, we will be providing a storage quota of 15% over your current amount of OneDrive storage and 15% over your current amount of Outlook Mailbox storage. This increased quota will remain in effect until you complete your studies at UW-Stout.

Managing Your Storage Limits

To help you maintain your storage limits, you will receive notifications when you are approaching your storage quota. Visit our Knowledge Base to learn more about how you can manage your storage space effectively.

We understand that there may be extenuating circumstances that require you to have more storage space, such as large datasets, high-resolution images and videos or extensive research projects.
