Student Password Requirement Update

Updates to UW System Administrative Procedure 1030.A, Information Security: Authentication, will result in stricter password policies for students. These updates have already been applied to all faculty and staff accounts. Here are the changes:
- Passwords need to be reset every 180 days
- Passwords must have a minimum of 12 characters
The requirement that students change their passwords every 180 days will be rolled out over the next month. Students will receive notification a few days prior to a password expiration after logging into campus systems like Learn@UW-Stout and AccessStout. Please refer to kb.uwstout.edu for additional information on password requirements and instructions for changing your password. Remember, UW-Stout will never send an email with a link to change password.
