Keyserver Error

Guide on fixing the Keyserver application error.


We are beginning the process of shutting down our keyserver. The error you are seeing means that you are currently using the older, keyserver version of the application. The fix for this is to uninstall the old version and reinstall the new version. The effected applications are:
  • SPSS version 25 and before
  • Older Adobe Products
  • Camtasia

 SPSS


  1. Search for SPSS using the search icon in the bottom left.
  2. Right-click the app then select Uninstall.
  3. This will open the Control Panel where you’ll want to select SPSS again and click Uninstall.
  4. Agree with the prompts on the screen and wait for the application to be uninstalled.
  5. Once uninstalled, use Software Center to reinstall the SPSS app.

Adobe


Note: If you are only using Adobe Acrobat Pro/Adobe Acrobat DC, you may be able to use the Adobe Reader DC app. This app has a majority of the functionality of the Pro version. If you want to switch to the Adobe Reader DC app, follow steps 1 - 4 below then install the Adobe Reader DC app from Software CenterSoftware Center (PC): Installing software on faculty, and staff Windows computers


  1. Search for the application causing the error, such as Adobe Acrobat DC, using the search icon in the bottom left.
  2. Right-click the app then select Uninstall.
  3. This will open the Control Panel where you’ll want to select the same app and click Uninstall.
    Note: This will require you to close all Microsoft apps (such as Excel, Outlook, Word) while the app uninstalls.
  4. Agree with the prompts on the screen and wait for the application to be uninstalled.
  5. Enroll in Adobe User Named licensing by signing into our Adobe Sign Up page and clicking Enroll.
  6. If Creative Cloud has not yet been installed, follow these directions to install Creative Cloud: Installing Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App: Software Center (Faculty and Staff HP)
    Note: This will require you to close all Microsoft apps.
  7. Once Creative Cloud is installed, follow these directions to reinstall the Creative Cloud version of the apps: Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App: Installing Individual Apps

Camtasia


Camtasia is no longer used on campus as we have moved to Adobe Captivate. To update to Captivate:

  1. Search for Camtasia using the search icon in the bottom left.
  2. Right-click the app then select Uninstall.
  3. This will open the Control Panel where you’ll want to select the same app and click Uninstall.
  4. Agree with the prompts on the screen and wait for the application to be uninstalled.
  5. Enroll in Adobe User Named licensing by signing into our Adobe Sign Up page and clicking Enroll.
  6. If Creative Cloud has not yet been installed, follow these directions to install Creative Cloud: Installing Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App: Software Center (Faculty and Staff HP)
    Note: This will require you to close all Microsoft apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc).
  7. Once Creative Cloud is installed, follow these directions to reinstall the Creative Cloud version of the apps: Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App: Installing Individual Apps
