DocuSign Overview
What is DocuSign?
- DocuSign is an eSignature platform that is replacing Adobe Sign on campus.
- DocuSign is currently only available for select approved departments.
- When used appropriately, DocuSign signatures are legally binding.
DocuSign is not intended to comply with disaster recovery or data retention policies. This platform should only be used to route documents for external signatures. Long-term storage must be done in the appropriate data storage platform (ImageNow, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc...)
Remember, you MUST have formal delegated signature authority to sign any document on behalf of the institution.
When to use DocuSign
- DocuSign is not intended to comply with disaster recovery or data retention policies. This platform should only be used to route documents for external signatures. Long-term storage must be done in the appropriate data storage platform (ImageNow, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc...).
- DocuSign is not a replacement for BP Logix or ImageNow.
- Forms processed through BP Logix should not be used or recreated using DocuSign.
- DocuSign should not be used to sign employment contracts, department requisitions, chargebacks, or any other document that has been traditionally routed in ImageNow.
- If you have any questions about what should or should not be used with DocuSign, please contact your department consultant or the Technology Helpdesk.
How to use DocuSign
- Access to DocuSign is provided on an as-needed bases for approved departments. For access, please submit a helpdesk ticket.
- Signed documents received through DocuSign should be uploaded an appropriate location for long-term storage.
