Downloading Drivers From HP's Website

Open a web browser

Select laptop as the type of device.

Enter the serial number. Do the following to get this easily:

On the keyboard, press WINDOWS and R key at the same time.

In the Run window, type the following in and hit enter: CMD

In the command prompt window, type the following in and hit the ENTER key: wmic bios get serialnumber
- Copy the serial number and paste it into the website.

Select the windows version. Do the following to get this:

On the keyboard, press WINDOWS and R key at the same time.

In the Run window, type the following in and hit enter: winver

A dialog box should appear with the windows version in it.

On the website, select the appropriate option in the drop-down.

You should now see a list of drivers available for the laptop. Look for the relevant category.

Download and run the driver you are looking for. Here are a couple of things to note:

You may be prompted to install the HP support assistant, ignore this to proceed to your download.
- Some drivers have multiple options for installs. An example of this are network drivers. To identify the appropriate one, open Device Manger on your computer (Do a search in the windows start menu) and in the window that opens up, locate the network driver section, and expand the drop down. It should have the brand listed. Install the matching driver to update it.
