eStout Student Laptop Program: Graduate Laptop Transfer Agreement

Instructions for filling out the laptop transfer agreement

The eStout Laptop Graduate Transfer Program allows eligible students to take ownership of a 2-year old laptop upon official graduation from UW-Stout. Currently, 2023 model year laptops or older are eligible for grad transfer. Notice: If you have a 2024 model year device, it must be exchanged before you leave campus.

To complete the ownership transfer process, please follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the eStout Laptop Portal at https://estout.vanguardinc.com.
  2. Under Step 1, select Review & Sign Agreement.

    If you do not see Step 1, you may not be eligible for the eStout Laptop Transfer Program. If you believe this is in error, please contact us at estout@uwstout.edu.

  3. Review the contents of the eStout Laptop Transfer Agreement.
    Once you agree to the terms, select ✅ Accept Ownership and sign in the white box on the bottom.

    If you do not wish the keep your device after you graduate, you can select ❌ Decline Ownership instead.

  4. Laptops for graduating students must be imaged to factory OS and removed from UW-Stout device management. This process is required to use your device without problems after graduation. Please book an appointment with the help desk to have your device operating system reset.

  5. To confirm your appointment, please confirm your details in the form below.
    Your Asset Number can be found on a barcode sticker below your device.

  6. Once your appointment date/time arrives, please arrive at the UW-Stout Technology Helpdesk with your eStout laptop.
    The OS reset typically takes 20-30 minutes, but can take an hour. Be sure to backup all user data prior to arrival.
