Authentication services

Description:

Create, maintain and implement centralized authentication systems to be used to access campus and external systems using a single credential.  External systems that contain moderate or high risk data must use campus credentials to access data.  Currently supported authentication systems that can be used with third party system to integrate with central authentication are:

SAML (shibboleth)

ADFS

SSO or Portal login

LTI

Getting Help:

To request usage of the campus authentication systems (campus credentials) to access other systems, create a ticket with the technology help desk.  The Infrastructure Services server team will contact you to configure the system.

Cost:

There is no cost associated with this system

Availability:

The authentication systems are publicly available 24/7/365. Requests for new systems or changes to an existing system will be processed during normal work hours. Changes can be made during off hours after consulting with the server team.

Policy:

Infrastructure Services requires that all systems receiving campus credentials be located on a secure system hosted by Infrastructure Services. These systems will provide the university community with a recognizable interface for all systems and allows the university to better protect the identities of the users.

Service Level Expectation:

The central authentication systems hosted by Infrastructure Services will strive for the highest uptime possible.
