eStout Student Laptop Program -- Support for laptops after graduation
Support is not provided for students who receive laptops through the laptop transfer program
The Technology Help Desk does not support laptops after transfer/graduation. The University transfers ownership of the laptop to the graduate though the eStout Student Laptop Transfer Program. Some computers have warranty remaining and support services may be available from the manufacturer.
Note: After graduation, the laptop will be covered or a maximum of one year, but it may be less than that. It is best to look on the link above to check the computer's warranty.

Your laptop must still be covered under HP warranty for this service. You can verify your coverage by following this link: HP Warranty check. To reinstall the operating system graduates will need to have a copy of Windows or obtain restore media from HP by calling 800-334-5144. HP will ask you to supply your serial number and the license key # on the bottom of your laptop and will charge for shipping.

To reinstall the operating system graduates will need to have a copy of Mac OS X, or order it from APPLE by calling 800-275-2273 and supplying the serial # of the laptop. Your laptop must still be covered under the Apple Care warranty to order media.
