ImageStout - Creating a Web Form in CommonSpot

Here are step by step instructions for creating a web form that will submit directly into ImageNow.

We are in the process of moving to the new Web Form Server and no longer creating new forms in CommonSpot.  The CommonSpot directions are listed below for your convenience if you have an existing form that needs updating and hasn't been moved to the new server yet.

Go to your webpage and login:    https://cmsauth.uwstout.edu/YourSubsiteHere/login.cfm


Enter your UW Stout username and password to log in, then click Login in the lower right corner of your screen.


Click "pencil in the upper right corner" to see another menu



Choose "Work on this Page":



In main part of page, locate “Click to insert a new element”

Add a Simple Form found in the Form & Data Sheet Elements drop down, then click "Close" in the lower right corner of the screen.


Click on “Click here to define the Simple Form element:

Click on "Select Form"


Follow the steps, create a new simple form, click next:

Name your form (the form name cannot contain spaces), then click "Submit to a specified page"


Here we will setup the "Submit Button" so our form will submit directly to ImageNow.

Type in “inow” into the Search Criteria text window, choose the root subsite (/), click "Filter".

The "Image Now Form Submission" choice appears in the window, make sure it is highlighted blue and click Use Highlighted Content:


Check to make sure the update was made  "/inowsubmit.cfm" should be listed next to Page, then click Save:

Setting up the fields

Roll over the gear until you see the Simple Form fly out menu and click once. In that menu, click on Edit Fields:



Start adding your New Fields  Click on "Add New Field"


Setting up Specific Types of the "New Form Fields" we will start with the Required Hidden Fields.

Hidden Fields do not show  on your WebForm

Source  -  Hidden and Required



Click on Other Properties tab and insert the Default Value of your PDF file: jillsSimplePDFForm
(your form will have a different name and cannot contain “.pdf” as shown below):

Click Add Field.

Drawer - Hidden and Required



Click on Other Properties tab
Insert the Default Value of your ImageNow Drawer name provided by the ImageNow Team (Sample: L_Forms): 



HIdden Field with no value, but are required by ImageNow 
(
Can be used for F1,F2, F3 or F4 if not otherwise populated)



Click on Other Properties tab and insert the Default Value of your F1 field will be a “-“:
 

Click on Other Properties tab and insert the Default Value of your form field (see chart above):
Click Add Field


Type = Selection List: 
(Populate Field Name [no spaces] and Label)




Click on Other Properties tab and type the values you would like to have in your selection list
into the Option List text box separating them with a coma.




Type = Text:


Click on Other Properties tab and adjust the length and size of your field shown below, if needed.

Click Add Field.


In the Edit Simple Form Fields window, arrange fields as necessary for the webform, edit, or delete fields as necessary.




Sample of the PDF Fields and Webform Fields. 
Field names must match, no spaces allowed in the field names (underscores should be used in place of spaces).
