Department checklist

Weeks Prior (Supervisor)

  • Obtain computer (most student machines are cascades and assigned to the student's supervisor in the departmental inventory)
  • Consider phone needs; if a new line is needed Request a New Phone Line Activation
  • Request StoutFS access (if necessary; fees apply)
  • Request access to PeopleSoft/AccessStout resources (if necessary)
  • Request access to Hyperion (if necessary)
  • Request access to ImageNow resources (if necessary)
  • Add to any email distribution lists (if necessary)
  • Grant calendar access (if necessary)
  • Request Administrator Account access to the workstation for student (if necessary) *Supervisor should request this access for a student worker

Why so many "if necessaries"? None of these suggested actions is a requirement of student employment; these steps are just to serve as reminders of common needs.
