OneDrive Business - Apple Sync

How to configure OneDrive sync on a Apple computer

Install OneDrive Client*

  1. Go to the Apple App Store
  2. Search for OneDrive
  3. Click Get App
  4. Click Install App
  5. Put in Apple ID and password when prompted

*An Apple ID is required to download and install applications from the App Store

Configure for OneDrive Business Account

  1. Open a terminal window - (Applications/Utilities/Terminal or spotlight search terminal)
  2. From a terminal window, type the following and tap Return:

defaults write com.microsoft.OneDrive-mac DefaultToBusinessFRE -bool True

     3. From a terminal window, type the following and tap Return:

defaults write com.microsoft.OneDrive-mac EnableAccounts -bool True

    4.  Start OneDrive by searching for OneDrive in spotlight search

    5. In the Welcome to OneDrive Welcome wizard click Sign In

    6. Sign in with UW-Stout email username and password

        Sign In

    7.  On This is you OneDrive folder screen, Choose OneDrive Folder Location

    8.  Leave default location and click Choose this location

    9.  Click Next

   10. Choose to sync all files or specific folders to sync and Next

   *You have unlimited space on OneDrive, syncing all files keeps a copies locally so you are limited to the size of your hard drive if you sync all

   11. Check Open at login so files sync automatically

   12. Open OneDrive - University of Wisconsin-Stout folder

   13. Sync Setup Complete
