I can't log on to my campus computer after I changed my password (faculty and staff)
Logging into computer with VPN to update password changes
A campus network connection is required
If you have not previously connected to an available wireless network, visit Log in to campus computer for the first time from off campus (Windows) .
Windows 10 - Connecting from off campus
- At initial screen press a spacebar key on keyboard to get to the logins screen
- Click on small network icon in the bottom right corner of screen
- Login into UW-Stout VPN using your Stout credentials
- Once successfully logged into the VPN your computer will update your cached credentials to your current password
Error Message: Logging into the network has failed. Contact you administrator for assistance.
Alternative method (also works if computer password doesn't match new credentials or you are prompted to update Windows credentials) : If you know the password with which you were last successfully able to log in, use that password. Once logged in Connect to VPN (Windows), lock the computer (via CTL-ALT-DEL), unlock, and it will update domain computer with the proper credentials. Reboot computer and log in with your correct password.
