KeyServer -- Apple connected via VPN still will not launch software from off campus

KeyServer error even after connecting to VPN on a Mac may mean that the VPN settings are incompatible with the version of OS X on the device


If after connecting to the campus via VPN and verifying the KeyServer address, a software application still will not launch, please delete the existing connection and re-add the VPN profile to ensure the newest VPN settings are available.

Error: "A connection to a network KeyServer could not be established.  Open KeyAccess and verify the KeyServer logon information."

To delete the existing VPN profile:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Select Network
  3. Highlight the existing Stout VPN profile
  4. Click "-" (the minus sign)
  5. Enter password, if prompted
