Cursor and mouse-click effects can be very effective in helping your viewers to follow along with what you're doing on the screen. Once you've made a recording and opened it in Camtasia Studio, you're ready to get started.
Go to the left menu and click on Cursor Effects.
You'll see three different cursor effects that you can use.
By using the menu at the top, you can also view the choices available for left-click effects.
You can also view the choices you have for right-click effects.
It is important to note that you can combine multiple effects for the same action, For example, you could have a right click show the Right Click Target and the Right Click Ripple at the same time.
In some cases, you may only want to have your effects show in certain parts of your movie. You can facilitate that by adding splits to your timeline at the points where you want the effects to show and not show.
Once you have done that, click and drag your effects down to the clip in the timeline where you want them to show.
When you successfully add the effect to your clip, you will get a message on the clip that says, "Effect Added."
You will also be able to check on the effect by clicking on the arrowhead in the middle of the clip.
You can also see the effect added if you open the Properties menu by clicking the Properties button.
In the Properties menu you can modify the effect. It is recommended that you experiment with modifying the different effects. Slight modifications may make the effects more suitable for your viewers.
If you want to lengthen or shorten the duration of any effect, you can do it by opening the effects menu by clicking on the arrowhead in the middle of the clip. One you have opened the menu, you can modify the effect by clicking the left end and dragging right or clicking the right end and dragging right.
If you want to remove an effect, you can do it two ways. One way is to go the Properties panel and click on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the effect you want to delete.
Another way is to open the menu of effects in the clip on the timeline by clicking on the arrowhead in the middle of the clip. Once the menu is open, you can select one or more effects and then right-click, and choose Delete from the menu that opens.
