Getting Started on StoutCloud Academic Program Pages

All UW-Stout academic programs have a sub-site in StoutCloud, the SharePoint Office 365 Online intranet for current students, faculty and staff resources.

Content that was on an academic program’s “Current Students” CommonSpot web page has been migrated to a StoutCloud Student Resources page. The Academic Programs directory is located here.

Academic program directors will have StoutCloud Designer permissions to edit a program sub-site. Permissions are granted by UW-Stout’s Enterprise Information Systems department. If you have not received a SharePoint “shared” notification email, please email webmaster@uwstout.edu for assistance.

Every program has its own StoutCloud sub-site. The sub-site includes a Document Library, Image Library and a Student Resources page. Academic Program pages all have the same content structure, as seen in the left column navigation. Every academic program sub-site has a landing page, a link to the program’s University Bulletin page and a link to a Student Resources page.

How to Edit an Academic Program Page

Academic Program pages are set-up using the Blank Web Part page. This allows you to enter text and images directly into the main section of the page or by adding a Web Part to a section of the page.

To edit an Academic Program landing page in StoutCloud, click the gear icon located in the blue bar on the top left section of the window.

SharePoint Office 365 Online has a similar editor interface as MS Word. When you are in Edit mode, the toolbar at the top of the page provides the same toolset as MS Word.

You can format text, add a table, insert links and images just like in MS Word by selecting the appropriate tab on the toolbar.
