eduroam Wireless Network: Connecting on Android (Samsung/Pixel)

This article walks though how to connect to eduroam on popular Android devices, such as Samsung and Pixel.

Before you begin:

The instructions are for authenticating to eduroam with our new authentication server, Cisco ISE.

Most issues can be fixed by long-pressing the eduroam WiFi while you're in the WiFi sub menu, and then tapping forget - usually it's best to do this first before following the below instructions, as the instructions assume you're connecting for the first time.

These instructions are specific to Samsung (One UI 8.0 on Android 16) and Google Pixel (stock Android 16) devices running their respective stock OS and launcher, but similar steps can be followed for other flavors of Android that exist in other manufacturers.

If you run into any issues with your Android device, please reach out to the Technology Helpdesk.

Samsung Instructions (One UI 8.0 on Android 16):

Samsung Galaxy S series instructions included here should also be the same for non-Galaxy "S" series devices, such as the "Z" (Z-Flip) series or the "A" (A55, A17, etc.) series.
