Computer Lab Remote Access

Instructions for logging in to computer labs from off campus
 Remote access to computer labs has been defined by courses in specific labs. Not all computer labs are available.
The following are instructions for connecting to PC Lab computers from a PC or if you have a Mac and are connecting to the PC Labs, or are connecting to the Mac labs.

Connecting to PC Labs from a PC

For PC Labs:  Begin by going to https://remoteaccess.labstats.com/uwstout


This will display a list of computers currently available in that lab. If a computer is not listed, it is currently in use or not available.

Available Computers
 

To log on to an available computer, click on the Connect button next to the computer name

A box will pop up with instructions to download and install the RDP connector
Download
Click the Download button and install the rdp file.

When the pop up box appears click Connect.
Connect
Enter your username (followed by @uwstout.edu) and password and click OKDo not click the Remember Me button.
Credentials
The logon may take a few minutes, be patient while the system loads.
**It is extremely important to Sign Out when done.  

Connecting to the PC Labs from a Mac

If this is your first time connecting to the PC Labs, you'll need to download and install the Microsoft RDP Client from here:
Once the RDP Client is installed:
This will display a list of computers currently available in that lab. If a computer is not listed, it is currently in use or not available.

Available Computers

To log on to an available computer, click on the Connect button next to the computer name.

Download
Click the Download button to download the RDP file.  Remember where you save it, you'll need it in the next step.
Double-click the RDP file to start the connection.  
** IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME USING THE RDP CLIENT:  You will be asked if Microsoft RDP Client can have access to your camera and microphone.  You can safely click "Don't Allow" for both, as these are unnecessary to use the lab PCs.   After this, the RDP Client will open but will not show any computers.  Close the RDP Client, double-click the RDP file again, and the connection should start. 
Enter your username (followed by @uwstout.edu) and password and click OK.
