macOS Sequoia Support at Stout

macOS Sequoia was released in September 2024.  As with any new OS version, there will be bugs and software incompatibilities.   For the most stable computing experience, we recommend folks wait to upgrade.  This gives Apple and software makers time to fix bugs and work out app compatibility issues.  Usually by the ".3" release (in this case, macOS 15.3), most of the major issues will have been addressed.

macOS Sequoia will not become our official supported operating system for several months, likely early in 2025.  Until then, macOS Sonoma (macOS 14) will continue to be our officially supported operating system for Macs.  This timeline may change in extenuating circumstances (i.e. a security flaw is found that is only fixed in macOS Sequoia, etc.)

We do not restrict clients from upgrading to macOS Sequoia but if they encounter issues that require a reimage, they will likely be reimaged back to macOS Sonoma.  (The exception being Macs that ship with macSO Sequoia from the factory.)
