macOS Ventura Support

macOS Monterey Support at Stout

macOS Ventura was released in October 2022.  As in past years, it will not become our official supported operating system until late Spring or early Summer 2023, when we begin preparing student laptops and labs for the fall semester.  Until then, macOS Monterey (macOS 12) will continue to be our officially supported operating system for Macs.

We will not restrict clients from upgrading to macOS Ventura but if they encounter issues that require a reimage, they will be reimaged back to macOS Monterey.  (The exception being Macs that ship with Ventura already installed.)
As with any new OS version, there will be bugs and software incompatibilities.   For the most stable computing experience, please wait to upgrade.  This gives Apple and software makers time to fix bugs and work out app compatibility issues.  Usually by the ".3" release (in this case, macOS 13.3), most of the major issues will have been addressed.
