Apple: Initial Setup of a Student Apple Laptop
IMPORTANT: The computer may pause for a bit between some steps of the Startup Assistant, please be patient.
Initial Setup
- Power on the MacBook.

The Startup Assistant will guide you through the process of customizing your Mac. You can safely click Skip or Set up later on several steps and configure those later in System Settings.

On the “Transfer Your Data to This Mac” screen, choose Set up as new.

On the “Select Your Wi-Fi Network” screen, choose eduroam. Enter your UW-Stout email address and your password. If prompted to verify the certificate, click Continue.

On the “Create a Mac Account” uncheck the “Allow computer account password to be reset...” box at the bottom.

After several more screens, the MacBook will display your desktop.

A message from Microsoft Auto Update will appear. Click OK on that message.
