VPN Access

A virtual private network (VPN) provides a way to use network resources securely in a remote manner.

Students, faculty and staff can connect to the UW-Stout network remotely via a VPN connection, replicating the on-campus network environment anywhere with internet access.

To install and connect via VPN, please select the appropriate link for your environment and follow instructions.

Cisco Secure Client (Windows) - Installation and Connection

Cisco Secure Client (Mac): Installation and Connection

Once connected, launch or visit the system you need. VPN connections are required to access some systems and launch some software on UW-Stout computers. Examples of products requiring a VPN connection are ImageNow, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and SPSS.
