Perceptive Content: Reinstalling Capture Profiles

This article will show how to put the Perceptive Content printing options (capture profiles) in place after receiving a new computer or computer re-image.

Step-by-step Instructions:

If your inscan.xml file wasn't backed up, you can contact the Technology Help Desk to request a copy.
  1. Find the inscan.xml file that was backed up 
    1. If you requested a copy, you will receive an email or Teams message with the inscan.xml file attached
  2. Right click the inscan.xml file
  3. On the drop down menu, Click Copy
  4. On the Task bar, Click File Explorer
  5. In File Explorer, Double-click: This PC
  6. Double-click:  Windows C:
  7. Double-click:  Users
  8. Double-click:  your username
  9. Double-click:  AppData
    1. AppData, may not be visible in the list because it is a hidden file.
      1. Left click:  View
      2. Left click:  Hidden Items (to apply a check mark in front of Hidden Items)
      3. AppData will appear in the list
  10. Double-click:  Roaming
  11. Double-click:  ImageNow
  12. Right Click:  Click Paste or Copy
  13. Choose:  Copy and Replace
  14. Close:  File Explore

Right click the inscan.xml file in your email, choose Copy. 
Note: 
If you are using "new" Outlook, you may be required to click "Download" instead. In this case, the inscan.xml file will be located in your Downloads folder.

On the Task bar, Click File Explorer

In File Explorer, Double-click: This PC

Double click this PC in File Explorer
Double-click:  Windows C:

Double-click:  Users

Users folder
Double-click:  your username

double click on your username folder

Double-click:  AppData (AppData may not be visible in the list because it is a hidden file.)

Left click:  View
Left click:  Hidden Items (to apply a check mark in front of Hidden Items)
AppData will appear in the list

 
View hidden items
Double-click:  AppData

App Data

Double-click:  Roaming

Double-click:  ImageNow

imagenow folder

If replacing the file:   Right click:  paste

Choose:  Copy and Replace

If backing up the file:  Right click:  copy the inscan file

location to past the file
