NetReg: Network registration for devices on the campus wired network

Register your device to use the wired campus network.

Devices connecting to the campus' wired network (via Ethernet) are required to be registered annually. The prior-year's registrations are typically deleted in mid-August.

To register a new device or re-register an existing device, open the computer’s web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer). A UW-Stout Network Registration page should automatically appear. If you receive a “Page cannot be displayed” error, type net.uwstout.edu into your browser’s address bar.

To register a device

  1. On the device, read and agree to the Information Technology Acceptable Use Policy 
  2. Enter your campus username and password and click Log In
  3. Click the Register button (the device's MAC address is displayed) 
  4. Restart your computer

To register a different device

  1. On a computer with a web browser, read and agree to the Information Technology Acceptable Use Policy 
  2. Enter your campus username and password and click Log In
  3. In the left navigation, click Register a Device.
  4. Enter the MAC Address of the device (see the manufacturer's instructions for finding a device's unique MAC address)
  5. Enter a Device Description (optional)
  6. Click Submit
  7. Restart the device
