Adobe Creative Cloud: Start Here

This KB article will walk faculty/staff and students through getting Adobe Creative Cloud installed to access the suite of Adobe products available for download.

Adobe Creative Cloud is a great place to start any creative project. Creative Cloud includes several apps and services for video, design, photography, and the web.

All users who need to use Adobe products for their coursework or work related projects will need to request access using the below steps. 

Students will need to request access at the beginning of each semester as access is cleared out at the end of each semester.

Faculty/Staff access will remain throughout the duration of your tenure.

Step 1: Install Adobe Creative Cloud

To install Adobe Creative Cloud, expand one of the panels below based on the device you are using. If you already have Adobe Creative Cloud installed, navigate to Step 2: Install Individual Adobe Applications.

HP Laptops - Students and Faculty/Staff

For Students, you will download Adobe Creative Cloud from Company Portal

For Faculty/Staff, you will download Adobe Creative Cloud from Software Center

For Stout Online and Graduate Students, you can download Adobe Creative Cloud from https://www.adobe.com/download/creative-cloud. Skip to Step 6 below after you download and install the software.

Download the Adobe Creative Cloud Application

  1. Open up the applicable application from the Start Menu to install software

    1. Students: Click on the Company Portal icon in the Start Menu

    2. Faculty/Staff: Click on the Software Center icon in the Start Menu

  2. Search for Creative Cloud in the search bar of Company Portal (top left) or Software Center (top right)

  3. Once you have located Creative Cloud, click into it and click Install

  4. The application will then begin installing

  5. Once the install is complete, the status will say "Installed"

  6. The Creative Cloud application will now show up in the Start Menu or on your desktop

  7. Open the Adobe Creative Cloud application and sign in with your full UW-Stout email address and click Continue.

Apple Laptops - Students and Faculty/Staff

For Students, you will download Adobe Creative Cloud from Managed Software Center

For Faculty/Staff, you will download Adobe Creative Cloud from Self Service

Stout Online and Graduate Students, you can download Adobe Creative Cloud from https://www.adobe.com/download/creative-cloud. Skip to Step 5 below after you download the software.

 

Download the Adobe Creative Cloud App

  1. Open up the applicable app from the Start Menu to install software

    1. Students: Click on Managed Software Center from your dock or Applications folder

    2. Faculty/Staff: Click on Self Service from your dock or Applications folder

  2. Search for Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App in the search bar (top left) of Managed Software Center or Self Service

  3. Once you have located Creative Cloud, click Install

  4. The app will then begin installing

  5. Complete remaining setup steps below based on if you are a student or faculty/staff

    1. Students

      1. Once the installer has finished, navigate to your Applications folder and click on the Creative Cloud Installer

      2. Click Continue on the "Install Creative Cloud" screen that appears. You will be asked for your password.  Enter your computer password and Click OK

      3. Choose Company or School Account

        Company or school account option in Adobe sign in

      4. Enter your UW-Stout password and click Sign In.  If you're asked to stay signed in, click Yes

      5. While Creative Cloud installs, a survey may appear on the right side of the screen. You can click Skip Question if you want to ignore this. After several minutes, the install will complete  
       
    2. Faculty/Staff

      1. You will be promoted by Admin By Request to elevate 3-4 times throughout the install process. This is expected behavior

      2. Once the installation is complete, open the Adobe Creative Cloud application and sign in with your full UW-Stout email address and click Continue

Step 2: Install Individual Adobe Applications

Students will need to request access at the beginning of each semester as access is cleared out at the end of each semester.

Faculty/Staff access will remain throughout the duration of your tenure.

 
  1. Open the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App on your desktop

    1. This can be found in the Start Menu for Windows or Launchpad for MacOS

  2. Click on the Apps icon on the left side

  3. Scroll down to the Available by request section and look for the application you would like to install

  4. Click on Request Access on that application

  5. You will then see a window come up that says "We're processing your request"

  6. After a few seconds, that window will disappear and it will then say "Your app is ready to use"

  7. It may take up to 10 minutes for the buttons to change to install/download

  8. Click on the Install button that is now available on the application you requested access to

  9. The application will begin downloading to your device now

  10. Repeat steps 3-8 in this section for any additional apps you may need
