Connect to StoutGuest Wireless Network
StoutGuest is a complimentary, open WiFi network which can be connected via most modern computers or mobile devices; complimentary WiFi for guests can be accessed by pressing the Accept button on the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) splash page that appears upon first connection. Guest devices authentication sessions will persist uninterrupted for 24 hours, after which the guest will need to re-accept the AUP.
Please note: active Stout students, faculty, staff, and eduroam visitors should connect to the eduroam wireless network to ensure the security of their connection.
Connect to StoutGuest using mobile Device
- From your mobile device, locate and select the general settings icon.
- Find and click the Wi-Fi icon or setting (Note that the Wi-Fi setting might be under a different tab, depending on the mobile device you are using. So, be familiar with how to find the Wi-Fi setting on your particular mobile device).
- From the list of available wireless network click StoutGuest.
- Select the Connect Automatically check box if you want StoutGuest to remember your device in the future, and then click Connect.
- After loading, a browser window will open with the UW-Stout Wireless Guest Access page with the network acceptable use policy. You may have to open a browser to see the acceptable use policy page.
- After reading the policy, click Accept.
The page should reload, and after a few seconds you should be successfully connected to StoutGuest.
Connect to StoutGuest using a Laptop
- Click the wireless network icon found on the taskbar of your laptop.
- From the list of available wireless networks, click StoutGuest.
- Select the Connect Automatically check box if you want StoutGuest to remember your device in the future, and then click Connect.
- After loading, the UW-Stout Wireless Guest Access page appear with the network acceptable use policy. You may have to open a browser to see the acceptable use policy page.
- After reading the policy, click Accept.
The page should reload, and after a few seconds you should be successfully connected to StoutGuest.
