Changes to Lifetime Alumni Accounts (Graduates between 2017-2023)

Important information about changes to lifetime alumni accounts for alumni who graduated after 2017 through Summer of 2023.

Alumni who were actively using their UW-Stout email account, were given the opportunity to keep their email account if they completed the following security requirements. Microsoft licensing only allows the university to provide email accounts to Alumni which does not include OneDrive, Word, Teams, etc.

Security Requirements

Multi-Factor Authentication 

To enhance the security of your email account, all email account holders are required to enroll in Multi-Factor Authentication. The University uses Microsoft Authenticator and you will need to download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone and enroll.

Multi-Factor Authentication Instructions 

UW-Stout IT Security Training

All users who are enrolled in Multi-Factor Authentication will also need to complete an annual IT Security training in May of each year. Notifications will be sent to your Stout account in May and you will be given a month to complete the training.
