Canvas End of Term Checklist
As the semester wraps up, taking a few intentional steps can help ensure a smooth close for both you and your students. Use the checklist below to stay organized, wrap up grading, and prepare for what’s next.
Complete the following:
- Add announcements to indicate important dates, final deadlines, and to remind students to complete course evaluations.
- Schedule final exams, ensuring any special accommodations are made, following these instructions:
- If using Respondus LockDown Browser for your final exam, ensure students are provided a practice exam using Respondus to confirm the software works on their machine.
- Confirm all grades are entered, and no grades are missing or blank. Be sure that your Canvas Gradebook reflects the grading policy in your syllabus.
- Ensure you have posted all grades in your course at the semester’s end.
- Log into Access Stout to add final grades to all your courses. You can add final grades manually or with our grade passback process.
- If you want to prepare for upcoming courses, you can create a sandbox course to import previous course content into, so you can edit while waiting for the next term's courses to be entered into Canvas.
