Preparing for Graduation: eStout Technology Checklist
Technology checklist to help you prepare for graduation.
Congratulations on your Graduation!
The staff at the Technology Help Desk are happy to offer the following suggestions for moving from your student to alumni status:
- Reimage your Laptop: Laptops will need to be reimaged at the Technology Help Desk to ensure continued use after graduation. If laptops are not reimaged,
you will be unable to use your laptop after your Microsoft 365 account expires. Watch for an email from eStout@uwstout.edu with a link to make an appointment to reimage your laptop. - BackUp: Back up all of your files before your laptop is reimaged. You can back up to OneDrive, but you should begin to explore subscriptions and other cloud-based solutions or a personal media devices.
- OneDrive: You will have access to OneDrive for 1 year after graduation.
- Email: Email accounts will expire after 1 year. Back up any contacts that you want to save.
- Software: Prepare for any installed University software including Adobe Creative Cloud Apps to expire after graduation. All Microsoft 365 applications, including OneDrive, Email, Word, PowerPoint, etc. will expire after 1 year.
- Password: Double check that you know the answers to your password security questions and that you have a current alternate email on record; Review this for help if you forget your email password; Update security questions/answers or provide an alternate email address
- Alumni Profile: Update your alumni profile and add a current personal email by logging on to https://bit.ly/36rJPEP
