Outlook (Students): Change your preferred email display name
Summary: Instructions for students to update their email display name.
The Registration and Records Office maintains documentation for how to enter a preferred name in Access Stout. Preferred names are reflected in in many internal locations such as class lists, student center, and unofficial transcripts. Please see their "Step-by-Step Guides".
Students may also update their first, last, and display name in the campus email system to display as preferred in the global address list and on email message headers.
- Access email account options (Office 365 account options) via a web browser. (Use the hyperlink, or to get there manually; login to web mail, click on your initials/display picture in the upper right hand corner, select "My Account", then select the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, select the "Mail" option in the bottom right corner, expand the "General" group in the upper left hand corner, select the "My Account" item under "General" group. This will have the fields for name change info.)
- In the left panel, under General, select My account.
- Modify First Name, Last Name, and Display Name as desired.
- After completing changes, click Save.
