Information about retiree email accounts
UW-Stout faculty and staff who have not been granted emeritus status can keep their email accounts upon retirement. Human Resources has a retirement checklist that instructs retirees to contact the UW-Stout Technology HelpDesk to schedule a time to meet with our staff to ensure that your account is ready to be converted and to create a HelpDesk ticket for you. The main points that the technician will be checking are:
- Ensure that you are not using PST (personal folders) in Outlook on your primary campus computer. If you are using a PST, we can assist with moving all of the email out of it and into your inbox so that you can access the emails after your retirement.
- Assist with any files you may have in OneDrive for Business. Once you retire you are no longer eligible to use OneDrive for Business. We can assist in copying files that you need or in distributing files to others in your department.
Retirees are given the opportunity to retain their UW-Stout email account so that they may continue to interact with the campus community. If your account is unused for 6 months after your password expires LIT will disable the account. After being disabled for 6 months the account will be deleted. Accounts that are unused and disabled will not be reenabled.
