Microsoft 365: What is Microsoft 365 Education for Students?

Microsoft 365 for Education defined including eligibility.

Microsoft 365 Education for Students is an Microsoft 365 plan that is available for free to active or part-time UW-Stout students. Schools like Stout qualify for this benefit when they have licensed Microsoft institution-wide for their faculty and staff through Microsoft’s Volume Licensing program and are enrolled to allow students to sign-up directly with Microsoft.

Microsoft 365 is accessed using an active student's UW-Stout email address and password. This plan allows active students to use online versions of or install Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on up to 5 PCs or Macs and Office apps on other mobile devices including Android, iPad®, and Windows tablets. The plan also includes 20GB of OneDrive storage and students can edit and collaborate using Microsoft 365 Online, and SharePoint sites.

Please note that Microsoft 365 is a robust and dynamic service; UW-Stout technology staff are not experts in all aspects of Microsoft 365 nor its components. Users are encouraged to explore the features of Microsoft  365, utilize Microsoft’s online training materials via their Learning Center, and explore other sites, such as LinkedIn Learning, for training and how-to's.
