If you are unable to log into a system that uses your campus credentials (username and password) the following troubleshooting steps can help:

1. Use only your Username, in lowercase, to log in to every system except email, StoutCloud, and ImageNow
2. Test your password at password.uwstout.edu
3. Attempt to log in using a different web browser (examples:Edge, Chrome)
4. If on campus, be certain to connect to Eduroam wireless (StoutGuest will not allow access to secure resources such as Canvas and Access Stout)
5. Clear internet browser cache, close browser, and try again
6. If possible, try a different device and/or a different location/connection
7. If off campus, try using the UW-Stout VPN.

If after attempting the above steps you are still unable to access the desired system, please create a self-service ticket that includes the URL you are attempting to access the system via, the system you wish to access, and the exact error message, whenever possible.

Less-common reasons that users experience problems logging into systems are:

• Access Stout locks for a period of 15 minutes following 10 failed attempts to log in
• Username changes can result in users being temporarily unable to log into hosted systems
• Enrollment/Employment status (example: Access Stout is available for only one year after the last-enrolled date)
• Semester start/end dates (example: Canvas)
• Employment/student status changes; students who become employed and conversely employees who become students may require intervention, particularly for Access Stout/PeopleSoft
• A data lead may need to grant access to some secure systems used by faculty and staff
