Faculty or Staff Windows-Based Computer Reimage -- End-User Help
A fresh start! There are just a few actions after a reimage that need be taken before you’ll be up and running and in great shape. We wish we could do these steps for you, but we just can't until you log in as yourself.
- Log in ON CAMPUS or follow instructions for a first-login off campus
The FIRST time a user logs on to reimaged computer they must be ON CAMPUS connected to campus wired or wireless network. NOTE: A campus network connection is only required only for the first login. Help for a first-time login.
- Complete the setup
- Find your files
If you had data backed up, it will be located on the C Drive (c:\your_username) of your newly-imaged machine. This data is ready to be moved into your users folder (c:\users\your_username).
- Install your printers (https://kb.uwstout.edu/page.php?id=46493)
- Launch Microsoft Outlook (if you prefer to use Outlook rather than the Outlook Web App (OWA)).
Microsoft Outlook will automatically configure itself for your campus email. Open Outlook and follow the prompts; accept the defaults. If you are unsure how to launch Outlook, click the Windows key on the keyboard and type "Outlook".
- Install Software
Campus-licensed software can be installed on campus using software center, which is installed on Domain computers.
