Reimage of Faculty or Staff Computer: Getting back up and running

After a reimage a few steps must be completed after the user logs into the computer for the first time

Faculty or Staff Windows-Based Computer Reimage

A fresh start! There are just a few actions after a reimage that need be taken before you’ll be up and running and in great shape. We wish we could do these steps for you, but we can't until you log in as yourself.

  1. Log in ON CAMPUS
The FIRST time a user logs on to a reimaged computer they must be ON CAMPUS connected to campus wired or wireless network. NOTE:  A campus network connection is only required for the first login. Help for a first-time login.

  2. Complete the setup
    • Install your printers (https://kb.uwstout.edu/print)

    • Launch Microsoft Outlook (if you prefer to use Outlook rather than the Outlook Web App (OWA)).
Microsoft Outlook will automatically configure itself for your campus email. Open Outlook and follow the prompts. Accept the defaults. If you are unsure how to launch Outlook, click the Windows key on the keyboard and type Outlook.

  3. Restore your files from external devices or OneDrive for Business and consider how you will back up going forward; consider OneDrive for Business

  4. Install Software
    • Campus-licensed software can be installed on campus using software center, which is installed on Domain computers.
